On The

 SOUTHERN  EXPOSURE

Myrtle Beach, SC is well known for its golf, camping, and beaches. You can also find some great Deep Sea and Offshore Sport Fishing here. The Myrtle Beach saltwater fishing charter boats leaving from Murrells Inlet offer a great get away from the crowds and allow you to enjoy the natural beauty and clean air of the sea. The SOUTHERN EXPOSURE offers both Deep Sea, and offshore Sport Fishing charters.

On our Deep Sea Fishing Charters, we drift fish for Grouper, Black Sea Bass, Trigger Fish, Snapper, and many other bottom dwellers. While drifting, we also have flat lines out for the Mackerel, Dolphin (fish), and yes... Sharks. That is the thrill of Deep Sea Fishing, you never know what to expect to pull up next!

Our Sport Fishing Charters consist of drifting, trolling, and or kite fishing with live, rigged, and or artificial baits for Dolphin, Mackerel, and Wahoo. One minute everyone is talking, then a screaming reel draws all interests.

We also offer Gulf Stream trips (seasonal) for Tuna, Wahoo, and Billfish.

If you plan to visit Myrtle Beach, you need to try the saltwater fishing. Let us be your guide!

A:  We offer GROUP CHARTERS only (up to 4 persons). No single "Walk-on's) We do not mix or make up groups. see the rates above.

Q:  What else do I have to pay?

A:  Nothing. The charter fee covers everything but the mate's tip. The standard is 15% of the charter fee.

Q:  What do I need to bring?

A:  Your lunch, snacks, beverages (NO GLASS), sunscreen, Sunglasses, Hat, light jacket, any medications you may be taking, etc. A more complete list is at the bottom of this page.

Q:  Do I need a fishing license?

A:  No. The boat has all of the necessary licenses. We also supply all rods & Reels, tackle, bait, ice, fuel, etc.

Q:  Where are you located?

A:  We are docked on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk, behind Drunken Jack's Restaurant in Murrells Inlet, SC. The street address is 4031 Hwy 17 Business - Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. You can also click on "GET MAP" below.

Q:  How far are you from where we are staying?

A:  Murrells inlet is approximately 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach, and 10 miles north of Pawleys Island. It is also approx 12 miles east of Conway.

Q.  Who gets the fish?

A:  All fish that you catch belong to you. If you like, we will clean them for you at no additional charge. If you want your fish, bring a cooler (leave it in your car until after the trip). If you do not want your fish, We will be happy to eat them for you!!!

Q: Can I catch a shark to take home?

A: We frequently catch sharks. If the species is not protected, and is of legal size, and you PLAN TO EAT the shark, you may keep one. It will be cleaned and prepared for your cooler. Other than those circumstances, we do not kill fish that are not to be eaten.

Q:  What kind of boat do you have?

A:  We operate a 26' Mod 2670 Glacier Bay. It has more than the required safety equipment and  has great electronics. Click the "BOAT" link at the bottom of the page.

Q:  When do we leave and return?

A:  On Gulf Stream, full and 3/4 day trips we leave close to first light. Our return is based on the trip purchased. On 1/2 day trips we leave near daylight or on an afternoon half day we leave around 1 PM.

Q:  What kind of fish are we going to catch?

A:  We get that question a lot. If the fish co-operate, we will probably catch some nice fish, which could include: Black Sea Bass, Grouper, Snapper, Grunts, Porgy, Trigger Fish, Mackerel, Dolphin Fish, Cobia, Amberjack, Sharks, etc. If they do not co-operate (and sometimes they have other plans) we might not catch anything or just a few. We have had a few of those days. BUT, we plan on doing everything we can to put you on fish given the allotted time of your trip.

Q:  How much deposit do you require? And what happens if we do not show up?

A:  We require a 50% deposit. If you do not show up, you will lose the deposit. No exceptions. Most charter companies bill you for the remainder of the trip you booked. We don't, but we do keep your deposit. Please don't be a "NO SHOW". This hurts us all. If WE cancel the charter for mechanical, weather, or any other reason, we will refund your deposit.

Q:  Do you sell gift certificates?

A:  Yes, for the full value of the trip, and it is non refundable. If there is a weather cancellation the day of the trip, we will give you a rain check to be used at another time.

We offer GROUP CHARTERS only. No single "Walk-on's) We do not mix or make up groups.

Winter fishing in Myrtle Beach

Many people think that the fishing in Myrtle Beach stops when the summer ends. Actually a full day of deep sea or sport fishing in the off season is often rewarding. Yes, the comfort zone is different, and you should prepare for it. The Myrtle Beach climate is mostly mild to moderate, but subject to quick change. Blink your eyes and see for yourself. We can have some nasty days just like in the summer, but with a temperature difference. The enclosed seating area helps, but layering is important. We don't "ice fish" in Myrtle Beach, but we do fish, even if it gets cold. (NOTE - Most motels offer off-season rates)

Convention or business meeting in the Myrtle Beach area? We have had our boat chartered for informal business meetings, and or relaxation afterward. With a Larger group? Half want to play golf and half want to go deep sea fishing?? with extra notice, we can assist you in booking a second or third boat to join our group. (These boats carry 4 to 6 persons). (We are not in the fishing boat locator business. If you are not interested in chartering our boat, and/or our associates boat, please check the yellow page to help you find what you want)

Note - For medium sized groups who are playing golf on Caledonia or True Blue, you might be able to book your meeting/conference in the Caledonia board room. They can cater your lunch. After the meeting, you are ready to play golf and are about 10 minutes from the boat.
